5 Things I’ve learnt from becoming quadrilingual

  1. You can use a word that’s shorter in another language so it fits in your diary

  2. That I can now converse with around 1,000,000,000 more people in this world that I couldn't have spoken with before

  3. Just because two languages are part of the same language family does not mean they are similar enough for it to be ‘easy’ to learn another one. Just less difficult.

  4. That it’s possible to sing along to a song in say French whilst simultaneously writing in English and not get mind boggled

  5. If people sneeze multiple times you can say ‘bless you’ in different languages each time
